Insurance

Consider asking the following questions to your insurance company prior to our first appointment:

  • Do you cover codes 90791 & 90837 for outpatient psychotherapy sessions without requiring prior authorization?
  • Do you cover couples therapy?
  • Do you cover therapy from Telehealth?
  • What is my copay, coinsurance, and/or deductible?
  • Do I have to meet my deductible before my mental health insurance benefits will apply?
  • Is there a maximum number of sessions per year that are allowed?
  • For out-of-network, what is the amount that you reimburse for the code 90837?

For In Network ~ Clients covered under these insurance plans are responsible for their copay at each visit and the costs before you reach your deductible.

 

If you are not in those networks, your plan is Out-of-Network.

However, do not lose hope because, if you provide me with your member ID and DOB I can check your Out-of-Network plan immediately and let you know if your Behavioral Health coverage has a cost, if any.  

I am recently OUT OF NETWORK with Anthem/BCBS 

Again, Please do not stress about my not being in your network.  If I’m an Out-of-Network provider on your plan, I will do my best to work with you regarding my fees, if you have any at all, and I will check what your insurance carrier covers for Out-of-Network psychotherapists.

Additionally, it is all easier than it seems and I am happy to provide you with a Super Bill (an invoice) if you want to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed yourself. Otherwise, I’m generally willing to submit the Out-of-Network Claims for you.

I imagine you are not sure how to go about any of this but I can direct you or make the calls myself to clarify your insurance plan’s Out-of-Network Plan details.

In any case, we can discuss payment arrangements.

Payment

I can provide super bills (statements/invoices) for all copays and session’s fees.

I accept Venmo, Zelle, ApplePay, Check or Cash.

For those using Credit Cards or HSA/FSA CC, I am using a service called, HELCIM, which charges a 3% convenience fee.

Cancellation Policy

Emergencies happen, my time is valuable and so is yours so, if you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please honor my time as I will always honor yours, and inform me of this cancellation at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Ask me about this policy in our 1st session & we can talk about my cancellation policy in detail.
